Letters to Teacher

We have started our letter writing unit, just in time to write letters to Santa. This week they have been able to write letters to whoever they choose. Most of them have written to me which is always fun. This is why I love teaching the "little kids". Here are some of my favorite things they had to say and ask in their letters.

  • "Do you have friends?"
  • I love you teaching me!
  • I have a lot of friends in this school and you are my best friend!
  • When are we going to get ready for the Thanksgiving feast?
  • Is your family rich?
  • You look pretty in your high heels.
  • You are good at math.
  • You are the best at teaching.
  • I love my teacher.
  • I like all of your clothes.
  • You are good at handwriting.
  • I want to be a teacher just like you when I grow up.
  • I like your hair. Do you paint it?
  • Thanks for giving us free time.
  • You read us chapter books that I love.
Who can't help but melt when these are the love notes you get? The days may be hard, but these little gems make it all worth it!

I have decided that teaching would be so much more fun if I could just deal with the kids! I once had a kid ask if I "dialed" my hair during Thanksgiving break...I think she meant dyed!
