Hare Hare Krishna Krishna

My roommates Shannon and Brooke and I had a little adventure tonight. At one point I almost felt like I was going to die. Here's the story. In Spanish Fork there is a huge Hare Krishna temple where they host a Holy Colors festival every year. Last year 3,000 people went, and this year I'm sure there was even more. The highlight of the festival is the "Throwing of the colors". You purchase bags of brightly colored chalk for 1 dollar and then throw it at each other and in the air.

So Shannon and Brooke and I decided to go, and our roommate told us that we should get there early to buy colors. It started at 4:00 and we left at 3 (it's like a 20 min. drive). We got there way early which was good because we got an awesome parking spot. We went and toured the temple, bought our colors and then sat in the car for an hour cause it was freezing cold. Then we went up the hill to prepare ourselves for the "throwing of the colors".
When the time came we threw our colors, and it was a DISASTER! Chalk was EVERYWHERE! In my mouth, down my sweatshirt, in my ears, and I literally felt like I was drowning. I had to run out of the crowd, and I felt like I was in a labryinth. I finally met up with my roommates and we were laughing so hard. I felt like I had chalk in my throat and lungs. It was so fun, but the outcome was horrible.

After we went to the Trolley in Springville for some dinner. We walked in and people were of course pointing and talking amongst themselves. Even though we were covered in bright colored powder, the dinner was delicious. Overall it was a fun night!

Yeah you look exactly like the people we saw at Guru's. We laughed at them a little bit too. Looks like it was SO fun though!

Hey Lindsay,

Hey, I found your site from Jenna's and it's been fun to blog stalk you a little!

So your roommate Brooke...is her last name Henderson? If so, I know her from junior high! Funny!
