Gum at School is a No-No

I know it seems there's been an overload of "school" posts, but I just can't help this one. So, D had something in his hand today and when questioned about it this is how it went:

"D, what is in your hand?"

"Gum"

"Where did you get it?"

"I found it in the boys bathroom when I was going."

(Holding back my utter disgust!) "Do you know how many germs are in the bathroom? Do you really think it's safe to be playing with a piece of gum that someone else chewed that you found in the bathroom?"

The only thing I could think of to say after that was "Go throw it away." Then I washed his hands and doused him in a healthy amount of hand sanitizer. I'm still wary of touching him. Honestly, in all the hours of class at BYU, they never prepared me for moments like this!

Okay. PLEASE tell me that this is the D that I had in my class last year. Because that sounds like him to a T. I'm telling you, I had to refill my soap dispenser more last year than ever before and it was for 2 boys only -- and D was one of them...if I'm thinking of the right kid...:) Atleast he's consistent, right?!
PS...we're coming to Utah Friday, March 27 and you'd better believe we're stopping by geneva, first thing. It will be an afternoon visit. It will be wonderfully wonderful. Do not get a sub that day. I MUST see you! Miss you!
