Draper Temple Open House

Last night I had an amazing opportunity. I, along with Jenni, Kels, and Grant, attended the Draper Temple Open House. Before temples are dedicated they are open to the public (members and non-members) to tour. I, not being endowed, have never been inside most parts of the temple, so tonight was special. I have to say that the temple is gorgeous. You can't tell in this picture, but it sits on the edge of the mountain overlooking the whole Salt Lake Valley. We went at night and the valley was lit up and breathtaking from the temple grounds.

We arrived at the church house where we were instructed to park. We then watched a 12 minute video outlining the importance of these holy edifices. I, within the first 2 minutes, was crying. The temple is so special and the anticipation of actually being able to go inside was overwhelming. We then hopped on a shuttle bus that took us up to the temple. We walked the tour throughout the building. I have never seen such beautiful rooms. I told Jenni that I loved the upholstery! I want to upholster my future home in all the fabrics in the temple! It was so modern and beautiful! After we walked through we went to another church building for refreshments and then caught our bus back to the car.

I can't wait until I can actually perform the sacred ordinances in the temple. Going last night strengthened my resolve to be married within those holy walls someday. I love to see the temple! I am so blessed I got to go!
