A Medical Musing

Disclaimer: I am not a hypochondriac! I don't try to find things wrong with me, lately they have just seemed to bless my life.

Two weeks ago I found this bump on my right foot in between my third and fourth toe. I watched it get bigger and bigger, and start to hurt as I wore shoes. About a week ago my big toe on my left foot started to hurt when I put pressure on it. It was nothing I couldn't handle, but it sure was annoying! So, I made an appointment with the podiatrist. Side note: I have ridiculously screwed up feet. I used to get yelled at at dance all the time for "not pointing my foot".  My parents took me to the podiatrist in high school and he told us the reason I couldn't point my foot is because the bones on the top of my feet are FUSED TOGETHER!! So, that's when I knew dance was not going to be on the long term horizon. They said if I would have come in when I was little they would have broken my feet to fix it. Anyhow...

So, Dr. told me it was a cyst on my right foot, numbed me up, stuck a needle in me and drained the fluid. He didn't quite know what was wrong on my big left toe, but gave me a shot of cortisone and told me to see how it felt in a few days. I was nervous about driving home with two numb feet, but I made it! Now I just have to wrap my right foot, and my left foot has a gorgeous bruise (but bruising is nothing new for me!)  Hopefully this is the end of my medical abnormalities for the year...we only have like a month and a half to go!
