Lots of Things to Say Today...

I have a lot on my mind today so bear with me...

1. Mondays at school are great. The kids are well behaved because they have had the weekend to relax and recoup, but then Tuesday comes. Tuesdays are my least favorite days. I feel like Tuesdays my class is out of control, well only in the afternoon. I guess this is supposed to be a humbling experience. I have previously had very good classes (the last two years). I don't know what it is about this years class: maybe it's the 10 boys and 6 girls, maybe it's the fact that I have 4 kids that are bound for special ed, or maybe it's the fact that they just don't know how to sit still for 10 minutes. I am about to loose my mind. Here are a few of my favorite moments from today..
a.  lkdjlt what is 2 plus 2 (as I hold up my fingers for her to count)... "Um.. 1?" Nope try again... "Um, 19?" It was at this point I knew it was going to be a long day.
b.  llkdlk didn't finish his math so he was supposed to come in at lunch recess  to finish. He didn't, I had to go get him off the playground. Then later on in the day, he stole some of my sticky tack and decided to add his boogers to it. Oh, joy, it's no longer sticky anymore!
c. The constant noises that come from 7 year old boys mouths. My class' personal favorite... farting noises, whistling, and burping.

2. I went to pick up my glasses today. I still really like them but was sick as I paid for the last half of the payment. Walking into the doctors office there was this little boy peering out the 4th story window. The kid was waving wildly at me and I realized it was one of my master noise makers from my class. I waved back and gave him a smile. I realized that even though I had to use my teacher voice with him not an hour earlier, he was still excited to see me. This is why I love 2nd grade. While at the doctors office I saw a handicapped child that I worked with when I worked for the Provo School District. This kid was my favorite kid, and I have thought of him a lot over the years. I became very attached to him over the 3 years I was able to do physical therapy with him. I went over to his mom and introduced myself to her, and said hi to Quinlan. It was a tender mercy to be able to see him.

3. Jenni and I are going to go scootering tonight. Call it my workout, cause I'm not dragging my sore butt to the gym tonight!

That's enough of my ranting for one night! Hope you didn't read all that! :)

Oh don't worry, I read it all. I totally am with you on the first item of business...seriously there is something in the water at our school! Or maybe it's the bathroom where two of my boys over flowed the toilets! Seriously..only 158 more days:)
