So Friday I had to work and I had my friend Amber's wedding (she was a beautiful bride! Congrats Amber and Trace!) so I flew to Denver on Saturday morning for Kelsey and Grant's open house. The flight was pretty uneventful, except for the landing when the plane literally bounced! I am already a nervous flyer, so for me it was scary (the lady next to me screamed...I was more calm than that!). While I was waiting for my flight at the SLC airport an Indian man started up a conversation with me about my 800 page book I'm reading. I told him my book was about Vampires and Werewolves and he asked me if it was like the movie VanHelsing. I tried to explain to him what it was about but he didn't get it, and I gave up trying. Somehow the conversation turned to BYU and he asked me if I partied much while I was at school. Of course I had to explain to him that our idea of partying was probably not the same. He also grilled me about why I decided not to move to Arizona and I had to explain to him that it just didn't feel right. Before we knew it our flight had arrived and although it was fun to chat with him, I was glad the intense grilling from a stranger was over.
Dad, Mom and Rob picked me up at the airport and then it was off to see Denver. The weather was rainy and it was FREEZING! We headed to downtown Denver to check out all the major league parks and then to Denver University to check out the campus. Of course we had to check out their hockey arena and buy some DU shirts.

There were these funny benches at D.U. so of course we had to get my picture on the Lips bench!

After that we went to the hotel to get ready for the open house. The Tanners have a very nice home and the food was delicious. It got pretty old there after a while because we were supposed to mingle and not form a line...I hung out with Robbie most of the night. My dad, "Mr. Social Butterfly" was chatting away. We got back to the hotel at about 11pm and I was asleep soon after... so much for sitting in the hot tub. I flew back to Utah this morning, a short 24 hours after I arrived in Denver, and tomorrow it's back to the daily grind.
The happy couple on their "One Week" Anniversary!
