Finally Summer

Thursday was my last day of summer school and I couldn't be happier about it. Not that I don't love my job and kids and all, it's just that this was an exhausting bunch! Thursday was our field trip that the kids have been talking about since the first day. We went to Scera park and just let them run around, then we ate lunch. After that we went to the movie theatre to see Horton Hears A Who. The kids each got a little popcorn and a drink. The movie was quite good but I probably only saw 3/4 of it due to a very special little boy. This boy, we will call "Ben" was first afraid to even go in the theatre. I tried to use my most polite voice and understand why he didn't want to go in the theatre. I thought it was because it was dark, because his mom wasn't there, but in all my prodding, he never gave me a reason. I finally grabbed his hand and gently pushed him in. He sat next to me and on the edge of his seat the whole movie. Oh, and he ran out of the theatre 3 times, and the whole scenario of me coaxing and being polite, started all over again. Needless to say I was NOT amused. At the end of the movie he said, "That was great!". Well I'm glad he enjoyed it!

Another funny school story that happened a few days ago. Ishay, one of my students from my first year came up to me at summer school and started rubbing my belly (keep in mind this kid is a 4th grader now) and said, "Are you going to have a baby... someday." I think I stared at him with my mouth open! Here he is rubbing my belly, and second of all I have been working really hard to get in shape. If he hadn't of added "someday" in there, I might have gone home and cried! These kids keep me laughing that's for sure!
