Advice from 8 year olds

So the other day my students were working on their writing. We were talking about advice and their assignment was to write advice. Here are some of their answers (in their own spelling and grammer):

How do you decide who to marry?

-He hast to be handsome, He hast to cook and know how to take care of kids. He brings me flowers, and be nice to me. I want him to have black hair, no freckles, and no braces. He hast to smell good, floss and use mouth wash.
-I would choose someone that's handsome. A person that's big and nice. Someone that would kiss and get along.

How can you tell when someone is in love?
-They are nice to each other. They go to nice places. The men buy their wifes flowers.
-When they hang together.

What do you do if your teacher is mean?
-Transfer to a new school. Stay away from school as long as you can. Call in sick.

How do you get rid of someone who is bugging you?
-Stop what they are doing. Trip them somewhere. Run over them with your pogo stick. Walk away.

Is it better to be single or married?
-I would pick married because you'll have a baby. You'll be loved by more people.

By far my favorite was when I asked them "How can Miss Peterson find a boyfriend?" I was rolling on the ground laughing reading these. Here are a few.

-Dear Miss P.,
You might find him on youre computer like my mom. P.S. Met so you now what he looks like.

Dear Miss P.,
Kiss someone randomly. Find someone in a fancy place. Make out with someone. Date someone randomely. Put some perfume on. Wear a sexy dress. (SERIOUSLY? I was slightly disturbed at what these kids know these days!)

Dear Miss Peterson,
Talk to boys at different places. Look for boys at the gym. Go to the beach and pretend to drownd and see if a boy will come and get you and talk to him alot! Dress really pretty and go somewhere you think there are lots of boys.

Dear Miss P.
Go to Payless because there are cute boys for you!

Dear Miss P.,
Why don't you ask someone to go for a date for dinner. You can find someone handsome. and a special man.

Oh how I love these kids. They constantly make me smile. They were so concerned about this and really poured their hearts into these letters. Gotta love em!

These are so funny! The things that they come up with. One of mine said they would jump out a window if their teacher was mean...I guess I better be careful:)
