Well, it has been quite an adventurous week! Spring break has truly been wonderful, and I am ready to go back to work tomorrow. Only 2 more months (with summer school and workshops I am teaching) to go! Then it's off to who knows what!
Instead of writing a detailed travel log of everything and every day here is a brief run-down of my Arizona adventure.
Wednesday:
I flew into Phoenix about 2pm, got my rental car and headed to my hotel.
Google maps got EVERY MAP/DIRECTIONS wrong! But it was amazingly easy to find my way around.
I got to the resort and they had put me in a room with double beds in kind of a secluded area (i was a little nervous) so I went back to the front desk, they changed it, and I got the right room right across from the POOl! :)
I went and got dinner at Chipotle and then went shopping (I bought my new favorite perfume and some make up)
Thursday:
I woke up at 5:30am so that I could get ready and go to my interview. I was nervous about driving on the Freeways, but it was pretty easy. It took me about 1 hour to go about 20 miles though (not my favorite).
I had 3 interviews and then took a tour of the district. Two of my interviews went really well, and I got offers. The middle interview was not so good. The interviewer was not very nice, and I felt like a bumbling idiot!
When I got back from the tour I found out that two of the schools wanted to hire me right there, and that someone I didn't even interview with wanted to hire me too. (I was pretty excited!) They gave me a contract and told me I had 10 days to decide if I wanted to be in the district, and then I would choose where I wanted to be. CRAZY!
After that I (it's now like 5pm) I went to another district office, got dinner, and then sat by the pool and read for a while. I was exhausted and went to be at like 9pm!

Friday:
I woke up early again and tried to track down people to chat with in 2 other districts (one was on vacation and the other had the day off! :(
I went to the Mesa Scrapbook convention, I wasn't that impressed, but I got some cute stuff. Then I went to the Mesa temple (the only pictures i took!)
Then it was back to the resort for some serious pool time (although looking at me you can't really even tell!)
I went to the mall that night in Chandler, got dinner to go at Chili's and then just hung out! If you want to hear a scary story about that night ask me, because I'm not going to write it cause my mom will freak out and my uncle will say, "See, she shouldn't have gone by herself!"
Saturday:
Woke up early again to return the rental car and fly home.
My flight was delayed 2 hours.
I got sick after the first flight and was dry heaving in the airplane bathroom shortly before take off. Even though the flight attendants knew this, they decided to put the unaccompanied minor in my care. (The poor child had to sit next to the the lady that had the barf bag in her hands the whole flight and was shaking uncontrollably!)
Heather picked me up at the airport...bless her heart.
I came home and went to bed.
My trip was amazing and now I just have to decide what to do with the rest of my life! Any suggestions? :)

Lindsay--
That is so awesome about your offers! I wish I had some wisdom to impart with you, alas, I do not. But congratulations-- I was just going through an old box and found our Bzdill's Big Birds 6th grade class yearbook. Too funny! Little did we know how awesome we'd become (haha, well, okay, you've done awesome things :)
You've got me seriously curious about your scary story, maybe I'll see you soon and you can tell me! Congrats again!
Lindsay - I am so pleased for you! You are a wonderful teacher and I am glad you have several offers to consider. I love your pictures - it makes me want to visit Arizona! Good luck with your decision. Love, Lori
Wow Linds!! First of all, GO TO ARIZONA! If you have the chance to get out of Provo, you should take it. And besides that, you are amazing and you will love it down there. It will be new and so much fun. I can't wait to hear what you decide to do!
