Farmington/Ikea/Liberty Adventure

What a weekend it was! I am so glad I got out of Provo for a few days and just got a chance to relax. I also got to meet some fabulous people, and we stayed up late and had some good laughs.

Friday afternoon, Brandt and I stopped at IKEA on our way to Farmington. He was in search of a blanket for Hawaii and I was just browsing. Needless to say we left with only a bag of frozen sweedish meatballs. (See breakfast). We sat in horrible traffic and it took us an hour and a half to get from Draper to Farmington (usually takes about 30 min). We got the key to the cabin, Mike, and got some dinner in Ogden then headed up to Liberty for a weekend escape.

When we got there we made a fire, and Mike and Brandt put on their manliest outfits. Brandt in plaid and mike in shorts and a sweater. We made a fire, and before we knew it Brandt's mission buddies started showing up. We played games, snacked, and went in the hot tub. We stayed up way too late and watched movies. I went to bed around 3 but they were still starting another movie.

I woke up about 8:30 (because I can't sleep in anymore!) and started breakfast with the girls and Brian. The menu consisted of pancakes, clementines, bacon, steak fries, hash browns, orange juice, and SWEDISH MEATBALLS! When I went down to wake up a sleepy Brandt the second sentence he uttered was, "DId you make the meatballs?" And he was not disappointed!

After breakfast we cleaned up (I showered) and we all headed out. I spent the day in Farmington with Brandt and his family. Our day consisted of the most random but fun things:

1) Scootering (Razor scooters) about 2 miles to his uncle's goat farm and feeding baby goats with a bottle. The ride included crossing the overpass over I-15, the major 8 lane freeway. CRAZY!

2) A pit stop for slushies at the local Cheveron.
3) A ride back to the house from Brandt's Mom.
4) Lunch of French Dip sandwiches, my favorite!
5) A shopping trip to complete Brandt's Hawaii wardrobe.
6) A quick 45 minute nap...much needed
7) Rollerblading down lagoon lane, and me crashing. It's not fun unless you crash.
8) Visiting the Burkholzs: Liz and Howard Two of my favorite people!
9) Dinner with the mission buddies (they are fun guys)
10) Movie: The Bucket List

I stayed the night at Brandt's house in Farmington. I like to think of Farmington/Kaysville as my second Utah home.

The weekend was a blast! It's always nice to get away from the bubble.

I don't think it is possible to fit this many things into one day. And I really really really want a French Dip sandwhich right now.
